After spending two days wandering around the city of Glasgow, we decided to get out to the country that we had heard was so beautiful - and they weren't joking! It was amazing. It was only a 1 hour train ride north of the city and it was a completely different place! Just what we needed. It was a bit chilly, but nice. We wandered around the national park for a few hours and had lunch in a funky hometown diner, it was fun! The lake (loch) was beautiful, very hilly across the lake and lots of ducks and such. This was what I think of as typical Scotland - so beautiful.

Sure is a pretty area. I noticed some house/canal boats in the photo. Any idea of the cost of living there?
Do you have any intention of visiting Edinburgh? I remember visiting there and staying at a B&B and walking around the city. The castle was a real adventure as was Sir Walter Raleigh's monument. The Queen's Walk (I think that was its name) from the castle to the palace was lined with shops from one end to the other. Nice people too.

I don't know about the cost of living in Bollach. I would guess something like Chehalis or something - relatively close to a big city, but not close enough to commute.
I am planning on going to Edinburgh this weekend actually. Funny you should ask! I am going to visit a friend for a day and then will be touring around by myself for a few days.
Oh my Gosh, Laura! I think I see Nessie back there... looming in the distance! Loch! HA! Crazy Scotts!
Nice pictures of your trip! Thanks for posting them! I really want to visit Scottland. I'm so excited to (hopefully) be going over there. Yay!
I love you!
I am so excited too! I really hope you can make it!
I will post more photos when I get back from Edinburgh. I have heard that it is amazingly beautiful!
Love you!
